The 3-stage Survey Model (work in progress)

I am currently writing a long-form article describing my experience with designing online surveys for user/market research.

In particular, I describe an approach to taking assumptions about your users through an iterative process; honing your questions to become as relevant and meaningful to both your users and your organization as possible, before letting them loose in a large-scale survey.

I call this approach the 3-stage survey, and while I can't claim any sort of originality, I still think spelling out the how-to and the why of the process might be valuable to someone. If nothing else, it will be valuable to myself.

I will post a draft in some form at some point, but for now, here's a rough infographic showing the basic principles:
